Jupiter Ionizers

Jupiter Science have been making water ionizers since 1984, demonstrating product innovation tempered with twenty five years' experience. Exporting to over 30 countries, Jupiter are highly expertised at producing equipment for 240V/50Hz power supply.

Some Japanese companies use very harmful materials in the interior of the electrolytic cell (stainless steel and indium which is harmful to the body). Jupiter use only 100% Platinum plated Titanium Electrodes.

Jupiter hold over 20 patents, international certificates, approval for medical equipment manufacturing and a state of the art ISO9001 plant.

Jupiter manufacture the only CE approved water ionizer on the market and therefore are the only one admitted to the EEC. Jupiter also hold UL, CE, TUV, JIS, KFDA, GMP and ISO14000 certifications.

Comparing Jupiter Models

Jupiter Science has been making water ionizers since 1982, and are the leading manufacturer of water ionizers both at home in Korea and globally too. In fact Jupiter produces around 100,000 ionizers a month (90% of all water ionizers produced).

Our comparison chart below shows the 4 most recent models, the Microlite, Melody, Orion and Delphi. We mainly sell Melody unit.

Our reason for this is that the technology inside the Orion (the Delphi by the way is an Orion with a funky remote tap) is barely greater than that of the Melody. Whatever the technology claims on paper the output water is the same. Essentially, the Orion is a brushed steel Melody produced for a market that demands new models all the time. But if anything it is the Melody that is tried and tested.

In our opinion we prefer the robustness of the Melody's water controller, which at least in the event of a power cut can still be used to collect filtered water. The display panel too on the Melody is far more informative than any other Jupiter model. You can see at a glance a numerical indication of filter life (as opposed to bars), the flow rate, the pH (acid, alkaline or purified), low flow rate alert and a hot water alert.

Plus the control buttons and graphics (pictured left) are very much clearer when it comes to selecting an appropriate setting.

Placing an ionizer under the sink is not ideal - how long before you notice a leak? We think the Delphi requires some time to be tried and tested. The most obvious concern from our experience dealing with ionizers is proper drainage. The Delphi system is inevitably going to sit lower then the tap, so how can water drain effectively from the filter and ionization chamber? If it doesn't, one will collect scale, the other bacteria.

We hope the following table demonstrates that there is a budget model (Microlite), and the outstanding Melody unit. Plus £214 buys you a modern kitchen look. Plus a further £200 makes you a guinea pig (with a really nice looking tap). We recommend the Melody EVERY TIME because since dealing with them in 2004 we have never had a unit break down.

Accessories and filter cartridges

All water ionizers come supplied with a simple diverter designed to screw into the existing tap at your main kitchen sink. However, so varied are our modern taps that they often offer no means of connection for a threaded diverter. The supplied diverter fits two types of threaded faucet: 1) externally threaded, this is where your tap finishes in a removable cap that possibly holds an aerator - removing this allows the diverter to screw on in its place. 2) internally threaded, this is normally where the tap finishes with a slightly recessed hexagonal fitting that probably holds an aerator - removing this with a spanner or pliers allows the diverter to screw in with the use of a smaller diameter connector which is supplied.

As an alternative solution to using the diverter, and to prevent untidiness at your main faucet, we present a number of simple self install solutions that provide a neater and more attractive finish.

The first option. best suited to the microlite, is to have a secondary 'mini' faucet over your kitchen sink, to which the ionizer can easily connect without the use of the diverter. This mini tap connects into the mains water supply underneath your sink with the use of a simple 'self-tapping' saddle valve, that you fix around the pipe and simple screw in - there is no need to turn off your mains water supply!

We HIGHLY recommend this solution for the Microlite Ionizer. In the picture to the left the yellow headed saddle valve is connected to the copper mains, feeding water to the ?-shaped faucet above the counter. From here you connect the hosing supplied with your ionizer directly to the ionizer inlet point.

With the Jupiter Melody, Aquarius and Orion, you can connect directly to your mains as these ionizers have an integrated mains controller. To do this purchase the saddle valve only and you will have all necessary pipes & connections tidily situating your melody on the counter top.

If you want your Melody under the sink we have the option of the undersink fitting kit.

The undersink kit is not compatible with the Orion/Aquarius - effectively the Delphi is the undersink solution for the Orion.

N.B. All ionizers are supplied with 1x 0.1 micron filter installed. The 0.01 micron filter is only for use in setups with a minimum 5 micron pre-filtration in-line, othewise the 0.01 filter would clog up far to quickly.
