System Comparison Chart
The
Aqualyze Rapid
water filter system incorporates a 'rapid-change' filter
cartridge feature and has the added benefit of DIY installation, making
it an all-round user-friendly option. The Aqualyze
Rapid
is a smart, compact system, with integral bracket and few components,
designed to take-up minimal under- sink space whilst still being robust
and versatile.
Because water quality varies
around the country, and consumers have different requirements, Aqualyze
Rapid
has a choice of 3 system options: the first two are standard filters
similar to the Stream system
(one for soft water and the other for hard water). The third cartridge
option is a higher level of filtration for all-round protection, designed
to also tackle cryptosporidium, cysts, lead and other metals in additional
to chemicals (e.g. chlorine), bad taste and odour.
If you were interested
in removing hard minerals comletely from your water then this isn't
possible with carbon filtration, see the Cascade
Reverse Osmosis Water Purifier.

What
comes in the box:
A
saddle valve with fitted ¼" (red) hose. This connects to
your cold main under your sink.
The
Rapid filter and special header unit with auto-shutoff
A
chrome faucet with fitted ¼" (blue) hose.
Installation
The
simplicity of the Rapid system makes it a popular choice. Installation
requires no shutting off of water supply or cutting pipes. Full step-by-step
instructions are included along with an 0800 helpline. A brief overview
follows:
Locate
cold water pipe (try running the hot tap for a few minutes so one
of the pipes under your sink gets hot)
- Secure saddle
valve around cold pipe
- Tap into pipe
and leave valve closed
- Choose location
of Rapid system and fix header unit, then insert cartridge
- Connect red
hose to header unit inlet (simple push-fit connection)
- Choose location
of chrome faucet and drill through worktop surface.
- Instal chrome
fauct with included fittings
- Connect blue
hose to header unit outlet (simple push-fit connection)
- Open saddle
valve tap
- Open chrome
faucet to collect water
Although this sytstem
claims an installation time of one hour it could easily be achieved
in half that time.
